AKU Vaccine Study - Economic Costs of Invasive Pneumococcal Disease

(June 2016 - January 2017)

The study analyses the cost of Invasive pneumococcal Disease (IPD) for four districts of Sindh. It was a part of a larger assessment of impact of introduction of PCV-10 vaccine. The study assessed the economic burden of IPD from three dimensions: the actual out of pocket expenses borne by the family of the patient, the cost incurred by the service provider and the opportunity cost of time spent on the patient's care by the care-giver(s).
